“Do you make
regular visits to yourself?”

Rumi

Mindfulness is about coming home to this very moment. It helps us slow down and allows us to be present to our lives. Mindfulness teaches us to identify how we have become entangled by our thoughts and conditioning. It empowers us to make choices in this moment and in the next. Mindfulness allows us to cultivate the appropriate response to whatever comes our way.

In addition to my private practice, I teach mindfulness and meditation. I began teaching teens at Spirit Rock in 2002.  Currently, I teach a three-part parenting series and the weekly drop-in Thursday Women’s meditation group. I also offer day longs and non residential retreats at Spirit Rock. I am a member of the Spirit Rock Family Council and a graduate of the  multi-year Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leaders Training Program.

I give presentations on mindfulness for youth and parents, whether this be teaching meditation to kids or helping increase parents' access to their own wisdom and grace.

I also  believe strongly in the power of visualization and mindfulness to support our young female athletes in both individual and team sport settings. Too often in the rush of conditioning and physical training, the training  of  the mind is ignored. Strengthening the "mind muscle" to overcome anxiety, doubts and distractions can bolster  athletes' confidence, well being, and love of the game.

Please contact me if you are interested in having me work with your young athletes, school, or parent group.
